She's Here!

And we are so happy! After 3 hours of 10-11 minute contractions on Sunday we decided to go get checked out. We got to the hospital at 11:15. At 11:45 I was a 4. I continued to have contractions but was still a 4 an hour later. The nurse didn't know what to tell us, if Emily hadn't been so fast last time we would have just gone home, but we didn't want to risk anything changing too quickly. She called the doc and he said for us to stay and if nothing had transpired he'd break my water in the morning. So that's what happened. Doc broke my water at 7:30 and we waited. At noon I was only a 6, we were all a little puzzled. So with a little pit we hit 8 ten minutes later and after another 10 minutes we were ready to have a baby. She was born at 12:35.
Brinley Grace Barrie, 9 lbs. 10 ozs!!

Now I know why I looked like I'd swallowed a beach ball. She was huge, they said I had a lot of water and the placenta was big too. Sheesh! I don't know what I did but she's a very healthy girl. Have I ever mentioned that I'm SO grateful for epidurals? We just think she is beautiful and the girls can't get enough of her. Nathan is still coming around but said he is happy we have her. He gave her a sweet kiss tonight before bed. We're so grateful for this new little piece of Heaven in our home.

Nothing to report

I can't believe it. A 3!?! Are you kidding me? My Dr. wasn't in the office and so his assisstant did my check up. She expects any time between now and Tuesday/Wednesday. Ugh. I'm a planner, I like to control my situation. This "anytime waiting game" is not working for me. So yesterday I walked every store in town. Literally. We needed to get a new stroller/car seat. I finally found one but I about died last night. Today I'm feeling fine. Except for the swollen ankles and feet. We're thinking a four wheeler ride? Just kidding, I don't think I could do that. Although the KLCE Second Chance Prom is tonight and all of my family is going. Maybe I could boogie the baby out. That would be exciting. But I'm not sure the only pair of shoes I can fit my feet into would be too cute with a dress. So I guess I wait. I'll keep you posted.

My Bag Is Packed...

...and I'm taking it to my Dr. appt this morning. Is that just wishful thinking? Last week I was still at a 2, I'm hoping for better news this week. I feel like this baby is going to fall out every time she moves. My mother agreed "If you sneeze or cough she's going to fall right out." Emily was born 30 minutes and 2 pushes after my water broke. I'm glad I was already at the hospital. If that happened at home this time I wouldn't have time to drop my kids off and drive to the hospital. She is SO low! Maybe I'm just really tired of being pregnant. But I'm hoping. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Don't Do That To Me!

Last night Emily gave me quite the scare - almost. It was about 7:30, I'd just finished cleaning up dinner and needed to start bath time. I hadn't seen Emily in a while and assumed she was playing in Katie's room with the kids.

"Katie, what's Emily doing?"

"I don't know."

"She's not with you?"

"No."

Emily sometimes likes to hide so I started looking.

"Emily..."

She's not playing in my closet.

"Emily?"

She's not under my bed.

"Emily, answer me."

Not in my bathroom, or the hall closet, or the kids bedrooms. And not answering me either. By this time Katie and Nate were looking, too. The lights were off in the basement but I sent Katie to look there and I was headed to the garage. And wouldn't you know it, when I turned to head through to the garage I found this:

My sweet little monkey sound asleep in the front room! RELIEF. And after I checked to make sure she was breathing ( I actually did that! ) I let her be. Doug summed it up nicely. "So she really didn't do anything and you just overreacted." I guess I did. Have you ever done that?

Easter Tradition

I can't believe it has been a week since I've been on here. The week has flown by. Which is good - one week closer to baby. And I'm ready. My house isn't really ready yet, but I am. I've had enough of being pregnant. I'm trying to find lots of projects to keep me busy. Although I have plenty of housework I could be doing, but I can always find a good excuse for not doing housework. ;-) Last week I made these bunnies for my kids.

They have loved them. I got my inspiration from Sherelle Christensen's blog. She has amazing talent. After I figured out a pattern for them they were a lot of fun.
Every year we head to Firth for the Easter Egg hunt. A couple of years ago we tried a hunt closer to home. Never again. It was a mad house and the Firth one is a lot more fun. The kids get to take their eggs to a trick or treat style area and get a candy depending on which Firth business is written on the eggs they found. Emily got 2 big chocolate bunnies (I'll have to help her eat those. :-) ) and Nathan got eggs with the dentist on them and got 2 toothbrushes in addition to plenty of candy.

After the hunt was over my mother had to get the picture which is becoming a new tradition. The belly shot. So here is the most recent installment of Hailey and Heather "bump to bump".

The kids put on their Easter outfits for church on Sunday. The girls were excited for their dresses and sandals. Church was really nice, although I couldn't sit any longer after Sacracment so Emily and I came home. She is still not quite adjusted. She'll go to class after Singing/Sharing Time but now that Katie and Nathan are both in Senior Primary I think she gets scared to be by herself and I have to sit with her. I'm thinking with the baby coming it may take her quite a while to go to Primary by herself. After Church we headed to Firth again for Easter Dinner and Grandma Larson hosted another Easter Egg hunt for the kids. They had a lot of fun and it was so nice to be outside and soak up the sunshine. Then today it snowed. I'm looking forward to more sunny weather this weekend. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm also looking forward to another DR. appt on Friday. Last Friday I was a "2" and 75%. We'll see what another week brings. Now back to making my baby announcements.

Leg Warmer link

Until I figure out how to do this the way I want I'll just do it like this. Here is the link :

http://baublesandbits.blogspot.com/2008/02/leg-warmer-tutorial.html

Enjoy making these for your little cuties! The only thing I did differently is the last step. She does a zigzag stitch around the edge. I did it on one of them. It made the inside bunchy, it didn't lay as nice, so I skipped that step. Have fun!

While the cats away... and legwarmers

My husband has left me - at least until Friday. He is in sunny Glendale, AZ for another round of Nouveau Riche real estate classes. Instead of flying this time he made the drive with two other guys. I don't think I would have enjoyed the drive even if I weren't preggo, but I kind of wish I were there. The classes are awesome and it's really a lot of fun. But anyway while the cats away the mouse will CRAFT! This morning I spent only 1 hour checking out some blogs. And you know how it is. You find a cute idea on one so you click the link, and find another cute idea, and another, and so on. I have a list of at least 6 things I want to do now. So fun!! Let's hope I get to them, I have a habit of collecting ideas and never actually getting to them. Sort of like the legwarmers I made today.
Emily brought me these socks from her drawer this morning and asked "Where are my legwarmers?" I bought these socks the day after Thanksgiving at the Freddy's sale with the intention of making legwarmers from a tutorial I found forever ago.

So I dug out the tutorial and went to work, what do you think? I think I either needed bigger socks or she grew. But she is loving them. I think I want some for me and Katie. I'm going to have to buy bigger socks and make her more but I know they'll be cute on the baby. Who I have a new name for, but I'm not willing to share yet. Doug hasn't given me his verdict on it. Do you love Emmi's pose? Get the camera out and this is what you get - I love it!

Well, since Doug is gone it is now about time to get in the van for the third time today to get Katie from school. That is the only down side about the move. I don't want the kids to change schools. I was thinking that maybe next year I would but Katie has a friend in our new ward who was in her second grade class last year and attends the other school this year. (Does that even make sense?) Katie asked her if she liked the other school and she said no. School is better where Katie is now. And I just don't think that Katie could find better friends than the ones she has. Oakley and Lauren are the sweetest, best girls ever. With friends like them I would never have to worry about Katie. So here we go to load up. When we get home I plan on sending the kids out, because is it gorgeous today, and working on another thing I've had planned. We'll see how it goes.
Okay someone help me. I want to do a link to the tutorial for the legwarmers. How do I do it? I want to be able to highlight a word so when you click it will take you to the tutorial. HELP!?!

More Bows and a Birthday

Katie and I decided that we would make these flower bows over Spring Break. Yesterday we got out all of the stuff to do it. It was pretty fun. I saw the idea on Studio 5 on KSL. Does anyone ever watch that? I love it and Good Things Utah. They always have fun ideas and yummy recipes. The instructions say to die-cut your flowers, well I don't have a cricut or anything like it so Katie and I cut them by hand. We have enough fabric left over for tons of them, we're thinking gifts for Katie's friends. Here's all of our flower pieces laid out. Sorry I didn't get this picture turned.

Then we piled all of the pieces up and sewed a button through the centers. Glue on a clasp and ta-da! Easy and we think they are so cute. The original idea was to glue them on a bar clasp to dress up t-shirts, jeans, and purses, etc. So we will be making more.

After our fabric adventure we headed to Pocatello. This fine fellow a.k.a "the chosen one" a.k.a. my "little" brother Josh turned 21 yesterday!!

I can't believe he is 21. I'm a good bit older than him so we have never been real buddy like, I'm probably more motherly to him if anything. He's a good kid and currently attending ISU. You should see him play "Rock Band", he's the master. Love you Josh!! He is definitely my mother's "chosen one", and he knows it. We had yummy "Better Than Sex" cake that Hailey made and hung out. And of course my mother had to get a picture of Hailey and I together. Hailey's baby boy is due on July11. Aren't we cute! I wish I didn't look exhausted in every picture.

They just had to take a picture of us bump to bump. Ugh! Hailey loved it. She actually said " I feel skinny next to you!" Yes, she is a brat. And I am very excited for her. And then I got a cute picture of my kids together. They can be so sweet. I look at those faces and my heart melts.
